We are growing at a staggering 9% GDP and the world is watching in awe. So are we at the rocketing prices and the social divide. All the rocketing growth in the city has done nothing to better life for this lady.
Growth sadly creates a social divide between the haves and the have nots.

Your photos tug at my heart..when I left India, I was in my mid-20's....I look at our city and our country from a different point of view. One thing I notice -- the poverty is in your face...it hots you directly...the only way not to be crumbled by it is to tune one self off, I guess. That old lady could be a mother, a grandmother....man..I am at a loss for words...
